Standard economy seats can be tough if you’re tall. Delta offers two upgrades that can help, but they work differently.
Note: Delta has renamed Comfort+ to Delta Comfort, though the product is the same.
Comfort+ adds legroom, often around 34 inches of pitch on widebody aircraft, compared with roughly 31 to 33 inches in Main Cabin. That extra space helps with knees and stretching your legs. However, seat width is generally the same as Main Cabin, so your shoulders and hips don’t get more room.
Premium Select offers around 38 inches of pitch on Delta’s widebody aircraft, a wider seat, more recline and a leg rest with a footrest. For tall passengers, this combination is much closer to a true “stretch out” seat.
If you’re tall and the flight is long, Premium Select is usually worth the extra money. For shorter trips, Comfort+ gives you the biggest improvement per dollar.
